Treatments are tailored to each client's presenting concerns, tolerance and treatment goals. Before treatment, clients may be asked about relevant health history, pain areas and current symptoms. Where appropriate, the therapist assesses areas of muscular tension, movement restriction and treatment priorities before selecting treatment areas, techniques and pressure. Treatment duration is selected according to the areas requiring treatment and the client's individual needs. Follow-up treatment and home-care advice may be recommended where appropriate.
